Raising Faith

This is Faith.  She is my daughter.  Somewhere around second grade we realized that Faith had been compensating in many ways to avoid learning to read.  Before that, we were thinking that she was just a slow starter in reading.  Neither of her parents were whizzes when first learning to read, and Faith was verbally articulate and physically coordinated at such a young age (She walked at 9 months) that we were not concerned.

We had a meeting with her second grade teacher and a student teacher, who seemed to recognize some issues around reading difficulties.  This meeting started our journey.  Throughout this website and documentary, we will share our story and other stories about experiencing dyslexia.
