October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

All across the country, communities are making efforts to spotlight a range of dyslexic needs, struggles, and signs. Dyslexia is one of the most common language-based learning neurodivergencies, as 20% or 1 in 5 people are dyslexic, and quite a few more than 20% of at-risk individuals are dyslexic. Awareness starts with you. While everyone’s brain develops similarly, no two brains function just alike. Being neurodivergent means having a brain that works differently from the average or “neurotypical” person. This includes ways of learning, ways of communicating and/or ways of perceiving the environment.
